11th June 2004 - Shocker Bolt - Price Reduction |
| Because other companies have not had to invest tens of thousands of pounds developing a bolt system, they are able to sell their bolt systems at a reduced price. We have therefore had to reduce our selling price to compete even though this may well affect future reseach and development projects. The matter has been passed on to our lawyers and the issue of patent infringement will be resolved in due course.

10th May 2004 - Vert Frame and Matrix Bolt Set - Change in availability |
Vert Frame Due to ongoing intellectual property issues regarding the vert frame, it has been decided to withdraw it from our product range. Those frames already sold will be supported by Evolve but no future sales will take place.
Matrix Bolt Set
Due to ongoing intellectual property issues in the USA, it has been decided to withdraw the bolt from sale in that country. Those bolt sets already sold will be supported by Evolve but there will be no future Matrix Bolt sales to customers in the USA.
We have therefore removed the option to order this product in US dollars. Customers outside the USA (eg Canada) who want to order this item in US Dollars should email sales@evolvepaintball.com for manual processing of your order.
As a company Evolve take very seriously the rights of others to protect their intellectual property rights and would never wish to compromise another companies patent.

26th February 2004 - Shocker 03 Bolt Challenge Update |
Further to various posts on various forums, we have refined the details of the challenge.
As well as the $10,000 prize for the shocker that fires the most paint from a full 68/4500 system during the tournament, we would like to add a further side game. The person that achieves the highest shot count using an Evolve bolt in a Shocker, will win the Marker that we use in the event.
We envisage that anyone can make any number of attempts over the three days at $10.00 per go. This means that you can test different set ups in order to get the most shots out of your marker. It would be nice if a paint manufacturer supported the contest, so if any one knows anyone that knows someone, it would help all round.
Each entrant must provide 4 sealed 500 ball bags, prior to shooting. The player will then shoot until his/her bottle pressure drops below 1000 Psi. Thereafter every 20th shot should be chrono’d until the ball velocity drops below 270 fps.
At the end of the last day we will then have three attempts to beat the best score using a standard Shocker 03 with our bolt-kit fitted. The marker will be standard issue with absolutely no modifications. The only difference between our marker and one bought off the shelf will be our bolt set, our LPR and our know-how.
We will be on site during the whole tournament, so those of you who want to, can share our know-how whatever bolt set you are using. We are happy to help all the contestants with their set-up, in order to maximise the shot count.
As previously mentioned, we cannot allow any bolt system that infringes our patent. In the case of a dispute the prize monies will be suspended until the outcome of any legal proceeding are known. We must therefore reserve the right to inspect all markers that shoot in excess of 1500 shots per fill.
In order so that we may assess the number of people interested in participating, please contact chris@evolvepaintball.com to register your interest.

23rd February 2004 - Delrin bolt no longer available |
Thanks to all our customers who tried the Delrin bolt for us. After a long review, we have decided that the longeivity issues of the delrin bolt outway the performance benefits, so we will not be manufacturing any more of these.
From today the Evolve Matrix Bolt Kit will no longer include the Delrin bolt.

16th February 2004 - $10,000 Shocker 03 Bolt Challenge |
It has come to our attention that there has been much speculation about wild claims made by this company, regarding the number off balls per fill that can be achieved using our new Shocker 03 bolt set. Figures in excess of 2000 balls per fill have been put forward as if they formed part of some excessive press campaign, direct from Evolve. For the record, we have only ever claimed that using our bolt kit in a well-set up marker will give roughly the same amount of shots as our Matrix bolt set, that is to say 1500. If any claims have been made regarding greater number of shots, then they have been by made our customers, NOT by us, although on occasion we may recommend other people get in touch with them to find out how.
Also, some manufacturers are using the percentage increase method of calculating how successful their bolt kits are, we don’t. And the reason we don’t is because it seems that each Shocker is slightly different, and will produce a different shot count ‘out of the box’.
There is only ONE way to increase the efficiency with this spool valve system, and that is to shut off the gas supply when the bolt is in the firing position. We know this because we went through the same ideas that we now see being release by other manufacturers.
Let us reiterate, the only way to increase the efficiency of this type of bolt system is to stop the leakage of gas when the ball has been fired. Anything else done to the bolt is purely cosmetic, no amount of space age engineering can make up for that crucial time when air is escaping down the barrel after the ball has been fired.
It was this brand new method of shutting off the air that led us to patent the concept, since in our view, ALL markers using a spool valve will want to use this technology, and to that end the DM4 bolt kit will be released within the next 2 months, followed shortly after, by a new design of the standard matrix bolt.
The Challenge
We hope that we have convinced you that our bolt kit works because of its ability to stop the wastage of air, we now want to stop the wastage of hot air on the forums.
We will be attending Super Seven event at Huntington Beach in California on the 19th to the 21st of March. We will be bringing a selection of Shocker’s set up by us, and ready to rip.
We are offering $10,000 to ANYONE that turns up at that event and manages to shoot just ONE ball more that us with a standard 68/4500, using any other bolt set. Just in case you thought you can chrono at 200 fps we will have an independent witness to keep an eye on the proceedings, the event organisers will choose this witness. The exception to the rule will be anyone that copies our bolt set and thereby infringes our patent, in that case we will have no option but to vigorously defend our exclusive rights.
We are going to charge $10 for each attempt, which will be donated to charity at the end of the event – charity to be decided by the event organisers.
Looking forward to the challenge, and maybe raising some money for charity.

Please do NOT email us your credit card details as that is insecure. |
